Dear Colleagues,

It gives me immense pleasure to invite you all to the joint meeting of the 59th Annual Conference of Neurological Society of India and Congress of Neurosurgeons USA, being held at Jaipur from 16th to 19th of December, 2010.

The knowledge about neurological and Neurosurgical disorders has markedly increased in the last decade due to advances in diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. The developing countries in addition, are also coping up with problems of ever increasing population, poverty, infections and malnutrition. There is deficiency of both neuroscientists and resources in developing countries. There will be ample opportunity, during the joint meeting, to discuss management of common problems and diseases prevalent in this part of the world.

Prof. Bagaria and his team are more than eager to receive you all and they have made excellent arrangements for the joint meeting. The academic program will be thought provoking and will be of interest to both junior and senior members of the Society.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of Neurological Society of India, I welcome you all to Jaipur.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sudesh Prabhakar
President NSI

Dr. Vedantam Rajshekhar

Dear Colleagues,

The 49th Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India to be held in Jaipur from 16th to 19th December 2010 will be a momentous occasion for the Society as for the first time it is being held in partnership with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons of US. Several leading American neurosurgeons are expected to participate in the scientific program of the conference, thus enhancing its appeal to the neurosurgeons of India. The Scientific Committee led by Dr. V. K. Jain is putting together a program which will have several new features such as Luncheon Symposia in addition to the Breakfast Symposia and other symposia and orations. The Organizing Committee of the Conference led by Dr. Dharker, Dr. Pangariya, Dr. Bhartiya and Dr. Bagaria are making all efforts to ensure that in addition to benefiting from the scientific presentations, the delegates will also enjoy the food, culture and architecture of Rajasthan.

On behalf of the NSI, I welcome our overseas guests to partake in this feast of science and culture. I also urge all the members of the NSI, especially the younger colleagues, to make use of this opportunity to listen to leaders of neurosurgery from India and USA talk about their areas of expertise and make new friends from overseas. I am sure that this Conference will set a new benchmark for conferences of our Society.

I wish all success to the Organising Committee of the Jaipur Conference.

Sincerely,

Dr. Vedantam Rajshekhar
